No Clogs Allowed

My skin is rather prone to blemishes and I have always found it extremely difficult to get rid of them. I have tried so many different products and none of them have worked. I have tried products like Clearasil and Garnier Neutrogena and my face has instantly broke out into a rash.
Before a couple of weeks ago I was not convinced by Soap and Glory but decided to give them a chance when my lovely work colleagues bought me one of the birthday sets as a present. Since then I have been addicted - purchasing most that I get my hands on. I recently purchased the Soap and Glory No Clogs Allowed Super Self Heating Deep Detox Mask.
It deep cleans your pores to remove breakouts and blemishes. Just like any other face mask, it does feel rather icky on the skin, but when you wipe it off your skin feels so clean and radiant.

How it works: You gently massage it into your skin and then wet your hands and rub it into your skin in small circles. The mask automatically heats up on your skin and turns a light shade of blue. It's is quite a funny feeling but the results are amazing!

To remove, wet a face towel in warm water and remove.

The feeling it leave behind is incredible! My skin felt amazingly soft and so clean. I never really use masks in my face and try to stick to just exfoliators but I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

The Sparkler All Over Shimmers

For those of you who are The Body Shop lovers, I want to recommend these beauties that I received as a present a while ago!

The Sparkler All Over Shimmers are great for a night out. All you need to do is press down and spray from a safe distance away to ensure that you get the perfect coat of shimmer all over your exposed skin.
i also think that they are sooo pretty to look at!

The ones that I have are Glazed Apple and Vania Brûlée. They smell absolutely amazing! I would probably use them without perfume as they smell so good!

Ted Baker

I thought I would write an appreciation post today about my love for Ted Baker products. Over the years I have gathered up quite the collection including

-handbags
-clothes
-make up
-bath stuff
-jewellery
-wash bags
-body spray
-purse
-dressing gown
-multiple phone cases

I JUST LOVE TED BAKER!!

The products are so reasonably priced and a great quality. The patterns are also just so pretty. My favourites are the floral patterns!

The make up is great, especially the lip crayon, the colour is lovely- it's quite dark, sort of like a burgundy and is great with a smokey eye look. The only down side is that it only comes out at Christmas!! So annoying! They only sell it in Boots as part of the Ted Baker baths and cosmetic range in the 3 for 2 chrostmas gifts! I think everyone should petition to have it sold all year round so that of we run out quickly then we don't need to wait a whole other year for it to come out again!

I hope you all love it as much as I do!

The Roseleaf

Out and about for my for ends birthday last night to this awesome little place at the Shore in Leith called the Roseleaf. It was a cosy little bar quite out of the way from the other restaurants and bars around that area.

The place had a very random feel to it it was as if someone had just decided that they liked certain things and thought they would be good together in a bar- which they are!

The place served cocktails either in a glass for one or if you ask to have it for two it comes in a teapot with two cups and saucers...so cute!

The cocktails I drank were lovely, I maybe had a little too much Prosecco though!

They also had lots of fancy hats on the walls that you could ask to bring down and just chill in them whilst drinking your cocktails. I didn't get a picture but the hats are like those a woman would wear to a wedding. And to round it up the other cheeky thing about this car is that in the toilets the walls are just covered in a chalkboard and they have little China cups with chalk on the wall so that you can write up messages on the wall- pretty awesome of you ask me!

The Perfect Little Clutch

If you know me you'll know that I have a slight obsession with all things Michael Kors. I am building up quite the collection . One item that is my absolute favourite is my limited edifying pale blue MK envelope clutch bag with metal studs.
My mum and dad brought me this back from Las Vegas about 2 and a half years ago along with the matching tote bag. I absolutely love that pretty much no one in the UK has it. The clutch, although rather small, is perfect for a glam night out. You can easily fit a purse, phone, compact hairbrush, a few bits and pieces of make up and keys in it. It also goes with pretty much anything because of its beautifully light colour.
These clutches are now available in the UK in a wide range of colours and are around £80 each. I will definitely be saving up to buy more!

Apologies about the photo, saving up to get myself a good camera!

Hair Care Essential

I was always that one friends with the short flat hair whilst the rest of them had lovely long shiny looking hair that was done to the middle of their backs....Jealous!!.. So about 2 years ago I decided to do something about it. My hair would never grow longer than just below my shoulders and it would really frustrate me as I couldn't do much with it. I asked my hairdresser for some advice and she recommended a product that at the time had just come out in the UK and that product was the Nioxin HairCare 3 step range. It includes a cleanser, revitaliser and a scalp treatment spray. The Nioxin range is proven to show results within a month for thicker and fuller hair.
So I decided that I would try it it out to see if it would make a difference. Due to having my hair dip dyed, i use System 3 Normal to Thin, Chemically Treated hair. There are 6 different systems to choose from which your hairdresser can help you match to your hair type.

You first apply the shampoo, only a small amount is needed, probably about the size of a pea. You then apply the conditioner and leave it for a couple of minutes. Once you have towel dried your hair, spray the scalp spray to the roots of your hair and rub in to your scalp to provide it with vitamins.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who struggles with hair growth.

I Went Shopping!

It's just passed Payday and so I decided to go out and do a little bit of shopping...thought I would share with you what I ended up purchasing and a review of the products. I am quite bad for when I go to the shops I end up buying quite a lot of stuff (most of which I don't always need!)

Soap and Glory

In boots today I went a little soap and glory mad. Their range is just so brilliant and there is so much to choose from! I especially liked the look of the new make yourself youthful range, but I'll save that for another day.

Facial soap and clarity 3-in-1 daily detox vitamin c facial wash £6.40
total drama clean 5-in-1 magnetising micellar make up remover £4.80
Clean on me creamy moisture shower gel
Body butter £2.50
The righteous butter body moisturiser
Smooch operator lip butter balm coconut ice £4.00

The facial and clarity facial wash and the total drama clean make up remover are my new favourite products!! They are absolutely brilliant! I used the make up remover last night to take off my makeup and only had to use a tiny bit on a cotton pad and it took my whole face of make up off! It made my face feel completely clean and smooth. I hate when using Make-up wipes as they still make you feel like the make up is stuck in your pores! Definitely recommend this product guys! And it's new to the range! The only slight criticism i have is that its not very good at taking off liquid eye liner! i had panda eyes when trying to take it off! The facial wash was incredible! You only need to apply a tiny bit(size of a grape is what it says on the back but you don't need that much. I would say about the size of a 5p penny) and it's very wet so you apply it directly to a dry face and rub it in circles! It has little pink balls through it but only a small amount and when applying it's so incredibly smooth! Rinse it off with water and your face is amazingly fresh, clean and smooth! Brilliant product!
The smooch lip balm is great! No tingle on the lips and works good as a base before you apply your lippy! It also has a slight shimmer to it.

The Body Shop

I haven't been to the Body Shop in a while so I ended up buying quite a few things to keep me going. I just couldn't help myself!

Pink grapefruit body sorbet
Pink grapefruit shower gel £4.00
Pink grapefruit body mist £7.50
Vanilla body mist £7.50
Pink grapefruit hand cream £3.50
Pink grapefruit lip butter £4.00
Tea Tree blemish fade night lotion £9.00
Vitamin E intense moisture cream £8.50

My absolute favourite range is the pink grapefruit as you can probably tell from the list of what I bought! I think it smells great and not to strong either. I love wearing that and it means that you don't have to wear perfume otherwise it would overpower the smell.
The vitamin e intense moisture cream has a great feel on your skin, you only need the tiniest bit to make your skin fully moisturised!
The body mists smell gorgeous and you definitely don't need perfume on when you wear it!
Like most people my skin is quite prone to blemishes and spots...its so annoying! Why can't i have flawless skin?? Anyway...I purchased the tea tree blemish fade night lotion in hopes that they would disappear! i have only used it for a couple of days now and i can definitely see a difference.
The pink grapefruit body sorbet has a rather grainy feel which, contrary to beliefs feel amazing on the skin when rubbed in and the smell is gorgeous(if i hadn't mentioned already!)

Barry M

I love Barry M make up I used to buy it all the time before I started using MAC religiously so I decided to have a look at their range whilst in boots. I ended up getting two palettes for £10 and a brow kit.

Natural glow palette 2 shadow and primer £6.49
Smokin hot palette shadow and blush £6.49
Brow kit shape and define £5.99

The natural glow palette provides you with many different shades of brown so that you can create a copper look to your make up! It's great for application and blends really well! These are definitely the colours I will be using almost daily!

The brow kit! Absolutely brilliant! I really struggle with my brows and finding the right kit for me! I have tried benefit, loreal and MAC(which is what I am currently using) and i find the Barry M kit very simple to use and the shade is perfect for me. The gel goes on lightly so you need to coat the brush quite a lot to fill the brow and the dark shadow defines the brow brilliantly. The highlighter helps to define the arch of the brow and the overall shape of the brow.

Nails

Sally Hansen miracle gel 510 game of chromes
Sally Hansen complete salon manicure 372 griege

I am someone who changes their nail colour on a weekly basis and have started to purchase the gel colours to try and keep it on for longer. These nail colours are perfect! The grey is lovely and light and the chrome provides a great contrast and glittery feel when wearing it on my ring finger with the with the grey.

Yankee candle

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Yankee candles! They smell gorgeous! I just love walking into their shops as you just get hit by the most amazing smells when walking through the door. I spend ages in there smelling all the candle looking for the right ones you buy. I have tried quite a few but my favourites are always the fruity ones. I thinks it's amazing that you can smell one and it's like your standing in a garden and then you can smell other and it's like your eating a bowl of fruit. I only ever get them and open the lid for the smell to waft through my room as I am slightly wary of candles being lit ( I am a bit of a scardy cat when it comes to flames!)

Pink grapefruit
Black Cherry
Silicon Lemon

The Ultimate Exfoliator

One thing I have always struggled with is finding the best exfoliating and cleansing products for my skin.

I have used clearasil, simple, 3 step Clinique, soap and glory....and none of them work for me!

The Benefit range is one of my favourites! Especially since it comes In Travel size. A couple of years ago I was at a benefit counter when they a deal on that if you purchased 3 benefit make-up items you could get a travel size set of the their skincare range for £5 of course both me and my mum could not refuse the offer.

It came with

-Foamingly clean facial wash
-Refined finish facial polish
-It's potent eye cream
-Moisture prep toning lotion
-Triple performing facial emulsion
-Ultra radiance facial hydrating must

Another that I have started using recently and is by far the best is the MAC volcanic ash Exfoliator. It is a dual-purpose foaming, cleansing and exfoliating scrub.
It feels incredible on your skin. Don't be put off my the fact that it is black! It's great! You can use it in two different ways

Your can put it on dry, this creates a rough feel to the skin which if you rub in circles thoroughly is great for removing blackheads. It also stays on like a facemask- I tend to keep it on for a good 5 minutes before I rinse it off with water.

You can also wet your hands and apply it that way this means that you use less of it at one time but does not open out your pores as much.

One you take the Exfoliator off with water your skin is left feeling incredibly smooth and clean. I would definitely recommended this product to anyone!

MAC Lips

I have only been using MAC make-up for about a year now ever since my mum was stopped in Harvey Nichols to get a makeover done. Before we left I ended up having my own make-up done and between the two of us we left with half the shop.

Since then my love for MAC has only grown and I now swear by it with only a few exceptions.

Collecting MAC lipsticks has become a slight obsession of mine and I thought I would share my collection with you all.

I currently have 18 lipsticks and it is still growing...as well as a lipglass and dazzleglass(Cherry Popping)!

As you can probably tell there are a few that I wear more than others but that won't stop me continuing to purchase them.

Here are some of my absolute favourites

(From the back to the front and left to right) Bombshell, MAC Red, Up The Amp, Heroine, Hot Gossip, On Hold,  Morange Amplified, Milan Mode

Hot Gossip..the one with hardly any left... Is the lipstick that I will never leave the house without! It is definitely one of my essentials. It's the right subtle shade and colour to match every outfit and is perfect for everyday for work and on a date!

Over the last year I have managed to get my hands on a couple of limited edition lipsticks!

Cinderella collection- Royal Ball
Miley Cyrus collection- Viva Glam Amplified DB4
Rihanna collection- Viva Glam 2 Frost
Eloquent Air Glaze

Up The Amp is actually a lipstick that I got absolutely FREE! Simply by taking in 6 empty MAC containers and bottles you get to purchase a free lipstick. It's a service called Back To MAC and it's absolutely brilliant. Recommend anyone who uses MAC everyday like me to definitely keep all your bottles, containers and palletes.

Purple lipsticks are becoming a favourite of mine, evidenced by the 3 different shades I currently own- Up The Amp, Heroine and Violetta. Violetta is a glittery version of Heroine which has more of a Matte feel to it but they are both equally as awesome!

(Apologies for the horrific camera quality)
